“True Lovers Embrace in The Chambers of the Secret Place”
A Lover is defined as one who is fond of or devoted to something. Their devotion is usually evidenced by their active involvement with the person or thing that they love. They present with excitement and enthusiasm about being a follower and supporter. Their posture typically reflects allegiance, loyalty and true devotion.
When a person makes a commitment to become intimately involved with someone, it is a natural dynamic to draw closer to them by investing more time and energy into getting to know them better. It is in these precious and private explorative moments that they gain insight into each other’s thoughts, feelings, likes, dislikes and character. Ultimately formulating a bond that cannot be broken.
Since the beginning of time God has been in pursuit of an intricate relationship with man. This was evidenced by how He frequently showed up in the garden to fellowship with Adam. And He was sadly disappointed in the moment that Adam was not available to Him.
Likewise, in His relationship with Moses He made the request that he come up closer and spend time in His presence. God was communicating to Moses that the inspiration, insight, instructions, answers, solutions and the empowerment needed to fulfill his purpose and complete his assignments in the earth lied within Him. It was because Moses responded favorably to His beckon to come that God was willing to expose more of Himself to him than others.
But God forewarned us through Paul that the day would come when men would be so consumed with love of themselves and influenced by the ways of the world that there would be no evidence of love for Him.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
2 Timothy 3:1-9
2 Timothy 3:1-9 (NIV)
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—
5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires,
7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.
8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected.
9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.
God wants to be first in our lives. He is eager for his children to recognize how valuable it is to spend time with him on a regular basis. And just like anyone in a relationship, he does not like to be neglected.
Recently God said these words to me:
“I’m looking for hearts that will burn for me with intense desire and passion. I’m looking for a people that will become consumed with me in a consistent fashion. I’m looking for a flame to be lit that will not flick, but remain eternal once it’s lit. For there is a level of passion that pushes one past intermittency and drives them into consistency. It’s when they become fully convinced, that it is well worth it to spend time in my presence. For you see one will only be inspired to come, when he recognizes how it is necessary to complete the race that they run. So, cultivate I say, cultivate. Consistently spend time in my presence and cultivate. Cultivate a relationship with me through my word and by my Spirit. He will lead, guide and supply what you need. For all that you need will flow out through Him from Me. And as you come up you will get built up and filled up with more and more of Me. For you see it has always been my greatest desire to not only take up residence in men, but to flow as I desire and bring them into their expected end. For as they come to know me in a more significant and intimate way, that’s when they will begin to hear, say and obey the things that reflect my heart concerning them. For there is only one passageway into this place and it is simply by spending time with Me.”
I believe that God is looking for hearts of passion that are stirred into action, simply motivated by the love that they have for Him. This is the type of love and passion that stimulates them to become relentless in their pursuit of up close and personal interaction. They become true seekers of God.
I love them that love me;
and those that seek me early shall find me.
Proverbs 8:17-21
According to Proverbs 8: 17-21 this type of passion invokes a vibrant response from heaven:
17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
God has clearly spelled it out for us that He holds a deep appreciation for those that love him enough to pursue an intimate relationship with Him.
The Hebrew meaning of the word “seek” is to draw; to be up early at any task with implication of earnestness; to search for with painstaking; to enquire early; to rise. These definitions make it clear that seekers intentionally make movement toward something they value.
I believe that “True Lovers” pursue every opportunity to connect with the one that they love. And every moment of every encounter shared together becomes treasured and leaves them awaiting and anticipating more.
